President’s Message
Well, the summer has been full. Dressage shows (2), 4-H County Fair horse show (18 horse trailers on grounds); Horse/Cow event in the arena – cows for the first time (see Cowhorse Clinic). The events during County Fair were a mixed bag. I got the arena ready for the herding dogs but when I got to the grounds on Saturday morning I found the arena with standing water in it. The county water truck drove around and around packing the arena and leaving standing water. I got the tractor and disk and worked the grounds as best I could and then found out the dogs were a no show. All that water loosened the ground and I was at least 10 inches down in the sand. I worked the ground with the groomer and hope that it will settle and dry out enough for the Dressage show and our show. If you saw the tractor of late you know we were running on threads! Got the tractor jacked up and tire off. Took two days to get a new one but now we are running on new rubber!

Matt and I will work the grounds and hold a “Tractor Training” session on Wednesday the 15th if anyone wants to come and learn to drive the “Blue Devil.” I will not be at the show on the 19th. Karen and I will be at the Cowboy Poetry gathering in Arizona. Please come and help out at the show. And if you see some little brown fuzzy things running around you are welcome to take any or all home, please!
