Horsemanship Challenges – June 13 and July 11

Sunday, June 13, our first show of the season, marked the premier of a the Horsemanship Challenge. We were pretty disorganized: trying to create the registration process, some patterns were hard to interpret, and the flow from one class to the next was very bumpy. But overall, I believe the 18 participants had a good time, the attitude was positive, and everyone seemed to be looking forward to the next attempt in July. They all liked the funny money they received, based upon total points, and bought lots of the prizes.

Sunday, July 11, we were better prepared, though there were still a few rough spots to be smoothed out. We had only ten riders this show. If we can sign up enough volunteers beforehand to help set up the jumps and trail course (then take them down after the show), we will have a third show on September 26. More fun, more prizes, more pictures!

And speaking of pictures, the top photo is of our high point winners from the July 11 show: Charlotte Rowe, Sarita Rein Reich, and Janet Elder. Classes are shown below.
